The Huntsville Astronomic and Lunar Observatory (HALO), located at Compass Rose Lodge in Huntsville, Utah, houses a 16-inch Ritchey-Chrétien telescope owned and operated by the Hyde Family. Guests and community members can enjoy detailed views of Saturn’s rings, Jupiter’s Galilean moons, and stunning deep-sky objects such as galaxies, nebulae, and globular clusters.
Halo Observatory is located in Huntsville, Utah.
Like the Hubble Space Telescope, HALO’s Ritchey-Chrétien design uses hyperbolic mirrors to deliver sharp, distortion-free views. The telescope sits on a precision Paramount mount for highly accurate tracking of celestial objects. With imaging equipment, HALO also captures vivid photographs of distant galaxies and nebulae.
